Asleep at the Wheel: Riding High Tour at Gruene Hall

Asleep at the Wheel brings the Riding High Tour to Gruene Hall on December 20, celebrating decades of Texas and Western swing with a show built for dancing and classic dance hall energy. After relocating to Austin in 1974 with encouragement from legends like Willie Nelson and Doug Sahm, the band became a cornerstone of the Texas music scene, and their ever-evolving lineup continues to keep the sound fresh. Their 2025 release Riding High In Texas marks their first new record since 2021, highlighting the band’s dedication to Western swing traditions, especially the central role of the fiddle, while expanding the catalog with both well-known and deep-cut Texas favorites.

Doors open at 7 pm, with West Texas Exiles performing at 8 pm, followed by Asleep at the Wheel at 9 pm. This all-ages concert takes place at Gruene Hall, 1281 Gruene Rd, New Braunfels, TX 78130.
