Bulky Goods Drop Off at Multiple New Braunfels Locations

Bulky Goods Day returns on Saturday, March 7, 2026, offering New Braunfels residents a free opportunity to dispose of large household items that won’t fit in regular trash carts. The event takes place from 7 am to 11 am, and the last vehicle in line at 11 am will be the last one served.

Residents may bring one load per household, per event. Each household may dispose of up to five oversized items and up to four whole passenger car tires without rims. Trailers are not accepted at City sites and must go directly to the landfill.

Drop-off locations include New Braunfels City Hall at 550 Landa Street (enter on Laurel Lane; the line will queue down Laurel Lane and up Wood Road), the New Braunfels Utilities Service Center at 355 FM 306 (mattresses are not accepted at this location), Walnut Springs Elementary at 1900 S. Walnut Avenue, and Mesquite Creek Landfill at FM 1101 and Kohlenberg Road.

Accepted items include furniture, whole passenger car tires without rims (limit four), and bulky non-metal household items that are too large for a standard trash cart. Mattresses are accepted only at City Hall, Walnut Springs Elementary, and Mesquite Creek Landfill. The landfill may charge a fee for mattress disposal; residents are encouraged to check the Waste Management website for current pricing details.

Items not accepted include electronics or appliances, household hazardous waste, yard or green waste, loose or bagged garbage, scrap metal, construction or remodeling debris, fixtures, business or commercial waste, and partial or damaged tires, including motorcycle, ATV, or lawn mower tires.

Those using the Mesquite Creek Landfill must ensure all trailers are tarped, each person in the vehicle wears a safety vest, and only one load per household is delivered. Tires and appliances are not accepted at the landfill.

Scrap metal is accepted year-round at the City Recycle Center. More information is available at newbraunfels.gov/recyclecenter.
