Bulky Goods Drop Off in New Braunfels

New Braunfels residents can take advantage of the quarterly Bulky Goods Day to dispose of large household items that are too big for regular trash collection. This free service provides four convenient drop-off locations throughout the city, making it easy to clear out unwanted furniture, mattresses, and other oversized items. Each household may bring one load per event, with up to five bulky items and up to four whole passenger car tires without rims.

Bulky Goods Drop Off will take place on Saturday, December 6, 2025, from 7 am to 11 am at the following locations: City Hall at 550 Landa Street, the New Braunfels Utilities Service Center at 355 FM 306 (no mattresses accepted at this site), Walnut Springs Elementary at 1900 S. Walnut Avenue, and Mesquite Creek Landfill at FM 1101 & Kohlenberg Road. Please note that trailers must go directly to the landfill and are not accepted at City sites.

Items accepted include furniture, mattresses, bulky non-metal household items, and whole passenger car tires without rims. Items not accepted include electronics, appliances, hazardous waste, yard waste, scrap metal, construction debris, fixtures, and commercial waste.

Mattresses may be dropped off only at City Hall, Walnut Springs Elementary, or Mesquite Creek Landfill. The landfill may charge a fee for mattress disposal and requires tarped trailers and safety vests for all passengers. Scrap metal can be recycled year-round at the City Recycle Center.
