Frank Schlather Day at Gruene Hall

Gruene Hall celebrates the life and legacy of Frank Schlather, the beloved unofficial “Mayor” of Gruene, during the annual Frank Schlather Day celebration in New Braunfels. Known for his cheerful spirit, love of dancing, and longtime presence at Gruene Hall, Frank became a local cultural icon and a familiar face to generations of visitors and regulars alike.
The celebration honors Frank’s lasting impact on the Gruene community and the many memories shared at the historic dance hall. Guests can enjoy 50-cent domestic beers from noon to 2 pm during “Frank’s Tranquilizer Hour,” a nod to Frank’s favorite longneck beer tradition. Those wearing an original Frank Schlather T-shirt can continue enjoying 50-cent domestic beers until 4 pm.
Frank Schlather Day takes place on Tuesday, June 23, from noon to 2 pm at Gruene Hall, located at 1281 Gruene Rd, New Braunfels, TX 78130.
