Hobby Haus – D&D Basics at New Braunfels Public Library

Adults interested in tabletop gaming can explore the world of Dungeons & Dragons during Hobby Haus – D&D Basics at the New Braunfels Public Library. Designed as a welcoming “Try Before You Buy” experience, this beginner-friendly program introduces attendees to tabletop roleplaying games, board games, and video games with guidance from library staff and hands-on opportunities to learn popular titles before they become available for checkout in the library catalog.

This session, titled “Dungeon Master 101 – How to Prepare a Session for Your Players,” will focus on the fundamentals of running a D&D game. Participants will learn how to guide players through a story, manage game rules, improvise during gameplay, and plan engaging sessions. The workshop will also cover practical tips for building combat and social encounters, organizing notes, and preparing resources to feel more confident behind the screen.

The program will take place on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, from 6 pm to 7:30 pm at the Main Library Meeting Room inside the New Braunfels Public Library Main Branch, located at 700 E Common St, New Braunfels, TX 78130. This event is open to adults ages 18 and older.

All participants must register online and have an active library card in order to attend the program series.
