Michael Martin Murphey’s Cowboy Christmas at The Brauntex Performing Arts Theatre

The Brauntex Performing Arts Theatre presents Michael Martin Murphey’s Cowboy Christmas, a cherished holiday production that brings Western heritage and festive tradition to life. For more than 20 years, Murphey has honored the spirit of the original Cowboy Christmas Ball in Anson, Texas—an intergenerational celebration held annually since 1934. Inspired by its rich customs and community spirit, he crafted his own version of the event, now performed at esteemed venues across the country.

Guests can expect an evening filled with classic cowboy songs, traditional Christmas music, and lively dances such as the waltz and Virginia Reel. Backed by his Rio Grande Band, Murphey creates a warm, nostalgic atmosphere that celebrates faith, family, and time-honored Western values.
