Mid-Texas Symphony presents Baroque Spectacle at Brauntex Performing Arts Theatre

Baroque brilliance and musical spectacle come together as the Mid-Texas Symphony presents an afternoon program filled with elegance, energy, and vivid contrasts. This concert showcases some of the most celebrated works of the Baroque era alongside vibrant modern compositions inspired by the seasons, creating a dynamic experience that spans centuries of musical expression.
The program opens and closes with two of George Frideric Handel’s most iconic works, selections from Water Music and the triumphant Royal Fireworks Music, framing the concert with regal splendor. Between these cornerstones, Stacy Garrop’s Spectacle of Light offers a contemporary tribute that sparkles with color and motion. Violinist Eric Gratz is featured in two striking seasonal works, performing Vivaldi’s La primavera (Spring) from The Four Seasons alongside Piazzolla’s passionate Primavera Porteño from The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires, blending Baroque clarity with fiery Argentine intensity.
The performance will be led by conductor Akiko Fujimoto and takes place on Sunday, February 22, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Brauntex Performing Arts Theatre, located at 290 West San Antonio Street in New Braunfels, Texas. Tickets and additional details are available through the Mid-Texas Symphony and the Brauntex Performing Arts Theatre box office.
