Passing Strangers at Krause’s Cafe

San Antonio’s own tribute band Passing Strangers will light up Krause’s Cafe with a set filled with 80s and 90s favorites on Saturday, September 27, 2025, from 6 pm to 9 pm. Fronted by founder and lead singer John Boyd, the group has been a staple of the Texas club scene for more than 30 years, often compared to “a band version of Spazmatics” thanks to their high-energy shows and nostalgic setlists.

Known for everything from Jessie’s Girl to Third Eye Blind, Passing Strangers are also celebrated for their electronic remake of Gary Wright’s “Dream Weaver,” which became a club and radio hit across the U.S. and parts of Europe. With Boyd’s soaring vocals—often compared to Jeff Buckley and Bono—the band brings an unforgettable mix of nostalgia and polished performance.
