Sam Baker at The Redbird Listening Room

West Texas songwriter, lyric writer, and visual artist Sam Baker brings an evening of stories and songs to The Redbird Listening Room on Sunday, September 20, 2026, at 4 pm. Known for sparse, literary songwriting inspired by everyday people and writers such as Faulkner and Hemingway, Baker has released seven albums, including Say Grace and his 2024 collaboration Win Win with Rodney Crowell.

Baker’s path to music began after surviving a 1986 bombing while traveling in Peru, an experience that resulted in life-changing injuries and ultimately influenced his approach to songwriting. His work has earned recognition from Rolling Stone, NPR’s Fresh Air, The Wall Street Journal, and Lone Star Music. Tickets are $40 per person.

Doors open 30 minutes before the show. Guests may bring their own beverages for a $10 fee per group. The venue also offers Ramblers, sodas, coffee, and Redbird Charcuterie Plates from Huisache Grill.

The event takes place at The Redbird Listening Room, 1260 Elliot Knox Blvd., New Braunfels, TX 78130. For tickets and more information, visit https://www.redbirdlisteningroom.com/event-details/20260920.
