An afternoon of stories and songs takes place at The Redbird Listening Room as Shake Russell performs on April 12, 2026, at 4 pm. The show highlights Russell’s distinctive Americana and folk-rock sound in an intimate listening-room setting focused on songwriting and storytelling.

For more than 50 years, Texas singer-songwriter Shake Russell has performed across the United States, developing a style that blends folk, rock, and Americana influences. A prolific writer, he has written or co-written hundreds of songs, including recordings by artists such as Ricky Skaggs, Waylon Jennings and Jessi Colter, Clint Black, Miranda Lambert, Jerry Jeff Walker, and Gary P. Nunn. Russell is a two-time BMI Millionaire Award recipient, a four-time BMI Writers Award honoree, and was inducted into the Austin Songwriters Association Music Legends Hall of Fame. Over his career he has released more than 30 albums, including the acclaimed Chasing the Song.

Doors open 30 minutes prior to the show. Guests are welcome to bring their own beverages, with a $10 fee per group. The venue also offers Ramblers, sodas, coffee, and Redbird Charcuterie Plates from Huisache Grill.
