February 7 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am
Sips & STEM – The Science of Coffee at Science Mill

This adult-focused workshop offers an immersive look at coffee through the lens of science, flavor, and sensory exploration on Saturday, February 7, 2026, from 10 am to 11 am at the Science Mill, located at 101 South Lady Bird Lane in Johnson City, Texas.

Led by Marcos Rodriguez of Greater Goods Coffee Co., the experience introduces participants to coffee the way professionals evaluate it. Guests will explore how chemistry, origin, processing, and extraction methods influence aroma and taste while sampling eight freshly roasted coffees from around the world.

The session includes an industry-style cupping with freshly ground coffee, hot water, and professional tasting tools. Participants will learn how to evaluate aroma before and after brewing, compare flavor profiles side by side, and understand why coffees taste different based on terroir and preparation. The workshop also allows time for questions and reflection using guided tasting notes.

This is an adult-only experience for ages 18 and up. Admission details and registration information are available through the Science Mill.
