Summer Cinema: Wicked at The Brauntex Performing Arts Theatre

The Brauntex Performing Arts Theatre continues its Summer Cinema series on June 3 from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm with a screening of the 2024 film adaptation of Wicked. Summer Cinema is sponsored by the Texas Commission on the Arts in partnership with Popbelly’s Popcorn.

This special screening features the untold origin story of the witches of Oz, following the unlikely friendship between Elphaba, the misunderstood future Wicked Witch of the West, and Glinda, the popular and charming student she meets at Shiz University. Set before Dorothy’s arrival in Oz, the story explores friendship, rivalry, love, and political corruption under the Wizard’s rule.

This event is a screening of the film version of Wicked and not the live stage musical. The film is rated PG.
