The Merles at Krause’s Cafe

Classic country sounds take center stage at Krause’s Cafe on Friday, February 20, from 6 pm to 9 pm with a live performance by The Merles. Based out of Austin, the band is known for its original music rooted in traditional country, drawing inspiration from legends such as Hank Williams, Ray Price, Lefty Frizzell, George Strait, and their namesake, Merle Haggard.
Fronted by singer-songwriter Todd Deatherage alongside drummer Matt Winegardner and pedal steel player Mike Simms, The Merles focus on an old-school country sound built around catchy choruses and danceable rhythms. Their commitment to classic country has earned them a loyal following, with the band performing more than 120 shows a year at honky-tonks and dancehalls across Texas. Past venues include Luckenbach Dancehall, Mercer Street Dancehall, Lonesome Rose, Globe Theatre, and The Little Longhorn Saloon, along with opening slots for well-known artists such as Dale Watson, Johnny Bush, Jason Boland, Bri Bagwell, Jason Eady, and Rosie Flores.
This live music event takes place at Krause’s Cafe, located at 148 S. Castell Ave., New Braunfels, Texas, offering an evening of traditional country music in a relaxed Hill Country setting.
