🚨 MEASLES ALERT: CASES CONFIRMED IN NEW BRAUNFELS

Officials Urge Residents to Monitor Symptoms

The largest measles outbreak in 30 years has reached New Braunfels, San Antonio, and San Marcos, according to the Texas Department of State Health Services. An individual with a confirmed measles case visited Buc-ee’s in New Braunfels on Sunday, February 16, from 9 AM - Noon.

đź’‰ Health officials urge residents to:

✔ Check your vaccination status—those without an MMR vaccine may be at risk.

âś” Monitor for symptoms like fever and rash for up to 21 days after exposure.

âś” Avoid public places if symptoms develop and contact your healthcare provider immediately.

  • Texas State University (San Marcos)

  • San Antonio River Walk attractions

  • New Braunfels Buc-ee’s (Feb. 16, 9 AM - Noon)

New Braunfels’ Master-Planned Community Adding More Green Space

The Veramendi community has filed plans to build a $10 million park as part of its 2,500-acre master-planned development in New Braunfels. The 450+ acre park will include walking trails, a playground, ballparks, and green spaces, making it one of the largest parks in the area.

Expected to break ground in August 2025, this new addition will be a publicly accessible green space that will enhance the community’s recreational offerings.

With two additional regional parks planned, both of which will surpass the size of Landa Park, Veramendi is shaping up to be a premier outdoor destination for both current and future residents.
