Despite dry conditions, New Braunfels’ rivers are ready for fun!
New Braunfels has long been known as a top destination for water recreation, and 2025 is shaping up to be no different!
💦 Guadalupe River conditions remain steady thanks to water releases from Canyon Lake, ensuring prime tubing, kayaking, and fishing conditions this season.
🏊 The Comal River is seeing new safety upgrades, including improved accessibility at the last public exit.

🎥 IS THE WALNUT 6 THEATER SIGN SAVED FROM DEMOLITION?
A beloved piece of New Braunfels history may live on after all.
For nearly 50 years, the Walnut 6 movie theater sign stood as a nostalgic reminder of New Braunfels’ cinematic past. Though the theater closed in 2004, the iconic marquee remained—until now.
Originally slated for demolition to make way for a new Smoothie King, the outcry from locals has led the City of New Braunfels to step in and explore options to save the sign.
While its final location is still undecided, some have suggested placing it at the Sophienburg Museum or Wurstfest grounds.
For now, this piece of Hill Country movie magic seems like it might live on! 🎬
