🔹 New Braunfels Approves $99K for New Das Rec Gym Equipment: New Braunfels City Council has approved $99,200 to replace high-use gym equipment at Das Rec to better serve its growing membership. The upgrades include new treadmills, cycle bikes, weight machines, and free weights, funded through the Parks and Recreation Department’s 2024-25 budget.

🔹 New Braunfels Considers Updates to Dangerous Dog Ordinance: New Braunfels is reviewing updates to its dangerous dog ordinance, aiming to create a two-tier system that distinguishes between "aggressive" and "dangerous" dogs. If approved, this would be the first update since 1961, offering a more structured and fair process for handling incidents while ensuring community safety.

🔹 Texas Lottery Under Investigation Over Big Jackpot Wins: State officials are investigating two Texas lottery jackpots—an $83 million win this month and a $95 million prize in 2023—over concerns that courier services, which purchase tickets remotely for customers, may have exploited the system. Both Gov. Greg Abbott and Attorney General Ken Paxton have launched investigations, and the Texas Lottery Commission now plans to ban couriers from operating in the state.
