Music, costumes, camping, and river vibes collide at KL Ranch Camp

River Retreat is back this weekend, April 3–6, bringing decades of music, vintage style, and outdoor fun to the banks of the Guadalupe River.

Hosted by Splice Records and Saint Arnold Brewing Company, this festival mixes riverside camping with live performances inspired by the 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s. Expect karaoke nights, trivia, costume contests, bingo, and all-day music from the Cliffside School of Rock Stage.

With themed decorations, food, drinks, and a new “Local Folks Market,” the retreat is designed for both relaxation and all-out fun. Single-day and weekend passes are available. Bonus: Kids 15 and under are free.

Free kites, snow cones, and family fun on the river

Pack your lawn chairs and get ready to take to the skies. Kite Day returns to Cypress Bend Park on Sunday, April 6 from 1 to 3 pm.

The first 150 attendees will receive a free kite, but you’re welcome to bring your own. It’s a free afternoon of outdoor fun featuring music, snow cones, and plenty of wide-open sky.

7TH ANNUAL CHILD ABUSE AWARENESS EVENT SEEKS VENDORS

Guardians of the Children Hill Country Chapter expands their impact

Guardians of the Children, a nonprofit biker group supporting abused kids, is preparing for their biggest event yet on April 12 from 12 to 4 pm at the Comal County Sheriff’s Pose facility.

With a larger venue, they’re looking for additional vendors willing to donate a silent auction item in lieu of a booth fee.

The family-friendly event will include bounce houses, a bike giveaway, a motorcycle show, raffle prizes, and more. All proceeds benefit local children in crisis.

🔥 Comal County Burn Ban Lifted

Thanks to recent rain, the burn ban in unincorporated areas of Comal County has been lifted. Always follow TCEQ rules if burning outdoors.

🚱 Water Service Canceled for 9 Local Developments

Texas Water Company has suspended water utility agreements for 4,182 planned lots across Comal County due to ongoing drought and limited supply.

📲 Sheriff’s Office Launching a New App

The Comal County Sheriff's Office is developing a new mobile app to send out alerts, share jail records, and improve direct communication with residents. It’s expected to launch within 45 days and will be free to use.
