Bulky Goods Drop-Off in New Braunfels

New Braunfels residents are invited to dispose of large, unwanted household items during the quarterly Bulky Goods Day on Saturday, September 13, 2025. This free service allows for the drop-off of bulky trash items such as furniture, mattresses, and car tires at four designated locations across the city.
Accepted items include up to five oversized household goods and up to four whole passenger car tires (no rims). Note that trailers are not permitted at city sites and must be directed to the landfill. Each household is limited to one load per event.
Drop-off sites include:
- City Hall – 550 Landa Street (enter on Laurel Lane; queue down Laurel Lane and up Wood Road)
- NBU Service Center – 355 FM 306 (no mattresses accepted here)
- Walnut Springs Elementary – 1900 S. Walnut Avenue
- Mesquite Creek Landfill – FM 1101 & Kohlenberg Road
The event runs from 7:00 am to 11:00 am, with the last vehicle in line at 11:00 am being the final one served.
Mattresses will only be accepted at City Hall, Walnut Springs Elementary, and the Mesquite Creek Landfill. Note that the landfill may charge a disposal fee for mattresses.
For landfill drop-offs, trailers must be tarped, each person in the vehicle must wear a safety vest, and only one load is allowed per household. Tires and appliances are not accepted at the landfill.
Prohibited items at all sites include electronics, hazardous waste, yard debris, loose garbage, scrap metal, construction materials, and commercial waste. Scrap metal can be recycled year-round at the City Recycle Center.
Participants must bring a state-issued photo ID and a current utility bill. For more details, call (830) 221-4040 or visit newbraunfels.gov/recyclecenter.
