Mini Makers: Float the Boat at the Science Mill
Young explorers can dive into early STEM discovery with Mini Makers: Float the Boat at the Science Mill, a hands-on event designed especially for children ages 5 and under. Held on Thursday, September 25, 2025, the museum opens early at 9:30 am exclusively for Mini Makers families, with the main activity session running from 10:30 am to 11:15 am.
Inspired by the story Who Sank the Boat? by Pamela Allen, this session begins with a themed story time followed by a fun-filled floating experiment. Children will test everyday objects in mini boats to observe what makes them sink or float—encouraging curiosity, language development, and scientific thinking through playful, water-based exploration.
Spots are limited, and this event provides a wonderful opportunity for preschoolers and their caregivers to explore STEM concepts in an interactive and meaningful way.
