Summer Cinema: A League of Their Own at The Brauntex Performing Arts Theatre

The Brauntex Performing Arts Theatre continues its Summer Cinema series on June 24 from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm with a screening of the beloved sports comedy-drama A League of Their Own. Summer Cinema is sponsored by the Texas Commission on the Arts in partnership with Popbelly’s Popcorn.

Set during World War II, the film tells the story of the first female professional baseball league and follows sisters Dottie and Kit as they join the Rockford Peaches. Under the reluctant management of former baseball player Jimmy Dugan, the team faces challenges, skepticism, and growing fame while competing on the field and proving themselves in the sport.
