Gamers, LARPers, mead enthusiasts, adventurers, and those who love fine meats- the New Braunfels Renaissance Faire is underway at 1370 Churchill Dr, New Braunfels, Texas 78130.
We went for the first weekend, and it was an absolute blast (check out our video below). The good news is there’s a second weekend, and tickets for the final weekend, December 12-14 are on sale for $13 a piece. Everyone is welcome at the faire, kids, adults, and adults who think they’re kids! There is something for everyone, and it’s sure to be one of the best things to do in New Braunfels this weekend.
Head on out to see live jousting with real horses, pet an alpaca or a pig, enjoy a fine glass of mead, and listen to some amazing performers sing and play their hearts out on stage.
If you’re into shopping, there are so many different kinds of vendors ready to turn you into a period-perfect peasant, garb your face in paint, delicately endow a henna tattoo, or trade a few coins for the perfect set of D&D dice.
You can even throw tomatoes at the local town reject! Or, if you dare, have a family member arrested for any reason at the for profit jail! Drunkenness, soberness, tomfoolery, or simply having a good time- they’re all good reasons to be put in the pillory for some good old-fashioned public humiliation.
Don’t forget to enjoy a smoked turkey leg bigger than your face!
There is truly fun at every turn.
Everyone at the festival is welcoming and encourages folks of all walks to have a good time. So, come out and get lost in a labyrinth, have a tarot reading, drink some ale, and have a walk through an enchanted forest with pirate sea shanties playing in the distance.
Make sure to keep an eye in the sky so you don’t miss the hawks and owls flying about. You are sure to have a wonderful time at the only Renaissance Faire in New Braunfels!
