Just note that children and young adults must be accompanied by someone 21+ if they plan to leave and return during the event.

3. Spend Time Outdoors at Our Beautiful Parks

Landa Park is always a favorite for families. Kids love riding the miniature train around the park, and there are also walking trails, playgrounds, picnic areas, paddle boat rentals, and plenty of space to relax.

Fischer Park is another great option with hiking trails, playgrounds, splash areas, and open spaces for running around.

For a quick and educational stop, check out the New Braunfels Railroad Museum, which is open to the public and currently free of charge (donations are welcome, but beginning March 18th, the museum will start charging for admission).

Families can explore railroad artifacts, photographs, and historic rail equipment, including a locomotive, caboose, boxcar, and a restored Pullman passenger car. It’s a fun way to learn about the important role railroads played in the town’s history.

8. Experience Hill Country Comicon

Comic book fans and pop culture lovers won’t want to miss Hill Country Comicon, happening March 14–15 at the New Braunfels Civic & Convention Center.

Now in its seventh year, the event features comics, cosplay, celebrity guests, artists, vendors, and plenty of family-friendly entertainment. New for 2026 is a TCG Showcase dedicated to trading card games like Pokémon, Yu-Gi-Oh!, and One Piece, making it a great destination for collectors and young fans alike.

11. Spring Break Camps at the New Braunfels Rec Center

If parents need daytime activities for kids during the week, the New Braunfels Rec Center is hosting Spring Break camps.

The All-Day Spring Break Camp runs Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM for children ages 5½ to 9. The program includes games, outdoor activities, group projects, and field trips designed to encourage social interaction and personal growth.

The Rec Center is also offering My Gym Spring Break Camp for kids ages 3 and up (must be potty trained). These camps include obstacle courses, games, relays, skill stations, and STEAM-based activities. Camps run from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM with flexible day options available.
